Prior to the "No Place Like Home Workshop" I taught March 4 -6th, I had requested that students submit photos of their homes, or of places that made them feel like home, so that I could draw a custom pattern for each gal. For many weeks I was surrounded by rolls of paper, bins of sharpened pencils, erasers (!!!) and my trusty black pens. When my husband returned home from work each day, he would find the tabletops and floors covered like this.
And during the 3 day workshop, the girls magically transformed their patterns into some glorious rugs.
My camera battery has been dying unexpectedly on me lately, so I did not get photos of all the rugs, but hope to have that remedied very soon.
For many months prior to this workshop ,I had collected specialty wools to create the unique effects that are needed for houses and landscapes. In addition, I had a huge worm table buffet where the gals could select bits and bobs of this and that for accents. It was a wool extravaganza! We had a wonderful 3 days together in this workshop and I can't wait to see all the rugs completed.
