I have a rare model of a Nancy Miller pencil hook for sale. I have had it quite a while but never used it after purchasing it from another hooker. It is unique in that it has a slender tip at the top end that can be used for lifting loops to the proper height, or for straigthening the edges after you have hooked a row, as shown in my photos. I understand that in the world of fine hookers, it was quite sought after as it is multi purpose. Handle is smooth molded black plastic about 3/8 inch at the widest and 8 inches long. Cost is $30 with free shipping in the US. Contact me at email@example.com and I can get it in the mail to you right away.
The rug in the photos is my latest finished piece. The pattern was from Maggie Bonanomi's book Comfort Zone, and I have done my version of it, including adding one of the background techniques that I teach in my "Backgrounds and Borders Boot Camp Workshop". My orange rug is shown below, followed by a photo of Maggie's brown rug that has a background that is hooked by echoing.
