Wild & Wooly Hookers Fundraiser Hook-in is huge success ~!

Our monthly hook-in hosted by the Wild & Wooly Hookers in Scottsdale was devoted to fund raising for the ACS Relay for Life which was coordinated with Dolores Hutson, an 11 yr. breast cancer survivor and Mom Extraordinaire of member Kathy Hutson.  Dolores collected donations in her pink jar as daughter Kathy serged and sewed the edges of members rugs to speed  the finishing process . Her is a photo of Dolores on the left in black t-shirt at the donation table. Member Rose is holding up an original design hummingbird rug that she was waiting to  have serged.

 
At the end of the day , members had donated $400 to help Dolores .....but wait....Cynthia Norwood had offered to make a matching donation when she heard we were sponsoring this event.....so ...we were able to provide a total of $800 to the ACS Relay for Life....and we were all just tickled......PINK ! Way to go Ladies!

   I also snapped a few pictures of projects being worked on by our talented group.....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
We also were having a hook-a-long using the Garden Seat pattern from wickedwool.com and several members brought their projects. For mine,  I had decided to add a piece of antique paisley to portions of the design and especially liked the way the little birdie turned out.

 

 

 

 
What a terrifically fun day for a great cause with a great bunch of hookers !

 

Installment #3 - Cynthia Norwood Rug Hooking Class in Phoenix

This is the 3rd and final installment of our class with Cynthia Norwood. Our class was large and well represented by the states of Washington, Oregon, and Arizona.

I  brought one of my antique rugs for the class to enjoy. I had purchased this one many years ago at a flea market when my mom, my sisters and I used to go antiquing. It is still one of my all time favorites.

 
Our three days together went by all too quickly.....but I must say that it was one of the most interesting and delightful classes that I have ever taken......don't miss the opportunity to grab a class with Cynthia....she is such an engaging instructor and exciting spirit that you will totally lose yourself in the inspired creativity of your hooking !
